Have you noticed how Jack Wilder and Lula ended up kissing in this movie? It wasn't really obvious at first. Well, maybe it is... Then again, I might be the only one who thought nobody else figured it out…
In any case, here’s how I thought it began…
Lula went to J. Daniel Atlas’s apartment because she said she wanted to meet him, Merritt and “especially Jack.” This part is where I started to notice how Lula had a thing for Jack. I mean, she even mentions how she knew Jack was alive and had simply faked his death. What a stalker! I know this sounds like a shot in the dark but there's more to it so please keep reading!
When Dylan was introducing Lula, as the newest member of the horsemen, Lula was concerned about Jack’s reaction. In this scenario, Lula asked Jack amongst the other two in an attempt to start something between them.
She also waved and smiled at Jack who was approaching Dylan… but didn’t get the attention she wanted .
Well, she did make an impression when she said that faking his death is a crime. But I don’t think that’s what she expected... Well at least Jack glanced at her, right?
Small chats that lead to...
Jack’s first smile at Lula… They talked about something in this scene but I don’t think I’m allowed to mention it here. =P
From hijacking the Octa Launch to the horsemen’s unexpected trip in Macau, Lula and Jack were always beside each other… on the car to the Sands, the elevator, the couch… then, when Jack disagreed with Walter, Lula was the first person to support him.
The part where they reached the magic store is when the “magic” between Jack and Lula (noticeably) began. Lula asked for Jack’s help in inspecting one of the toys in the magic store. It looks to me as if she was just diverting Jack’s attention to surprise him later. The next thing I knew, they’ve been playing with other toys while J. Daniel was fixated on how to free the horsemen from Walter. It was this moment when Lula got a chance to ask Jack about girls and relationships. I believe this is where she finally got Jack’s attention. While Jack answered, Lula showed him his wallet, his belt, plus some peanuts from the hotel bar. She actually took them without Jack realizing just to prove how she isn’t like the other girls. Lula’s impressive sleight of hand left Jack with a smile on his face as he picked up his belongings.
Macau Science Center. Lula found more ways to further impress Jack. She managed to extract information from Allen Scott-Frank. She also made her way into the lab as a model, which caught all of the 3 horsemen’s attention by the way. Not to mention how Lula was able to divert the guards’ focus on her, I guess you’ll have to find that out for yourself.
London. After the horsemen’s individual acts, they were captured and are now on the plane. They started arguing with each other because Daniel was forced to surrender the card they stole from Macau Science Center. Seems like J. Daniel Atlas began to notice what went on between Jack and Lula because he was blaming Jack of protecting his “girlfriend.” And when Chase was tossing them out of the plane, well, even though the horsemen knew they were putting up an act, Jack & Lula chose to stay together. Shortly after their final act, they ended up kissing! =D
