SENIOR LEADERS BLOWOUT
CUSTOMER SERVICE WEEK IN RP MANILA
It’s that time of the year where RealPage commemorates the hard work RealPagers invest in each day. Customer Service Week is an internationally recognized event that the U.S. Congress proclaimed in 1992. Companies honor employees in various ways during this week-long celebration. In RealPage Manila, the management coordinated two activities. The first is called #AlphaWall. This involved wall-mounted boards where individuals can post their thoughts, using a sentence or a phrase, to describe what an amazing customer service is. Post-its that feature witty catchphrases, impressive illustrations, and creative cut-outs flocked the boards at common areas.
In addition to #AlphaWall, the vice president, together with directors and managers, threw a surprise by conducting a Senior Leaders Blowout activity at the second floor dining area. They (Jenny Constantino, Romel Moral, Jungie Soriano, Ricchie Eugenio, Paul Florido, Edsel Flores, Wawet Faustino, Krissy Cabiling & Alexis Jacoba) dressed up as waiters and pantry cooks to provide a great dining experience for RealPagers!
The event was unexpectedly fun not because everyone got the chance to boss around their superiors but because they got to see their leaders in a different light. In an office environment, employees tend to distance themselves from people with authority because of the preconceptions that come with the role. But the Senior Leaders Blowout initiative tears down a bit of that barrier. Within a few hours of breakfast service, RealPagers gained the chance to see a different side of their “waiters for the day”.
“It’s our turn to serve you!” says Paul Florido who guided one of the teams to an empty table. While Paul took the team's order, the chance for small talk ensued. this brought an exchange of laughter as Paul made light of the challenges he faces as a father. This kind of opportunity can change everyone's impression towards authoritative figures who, in reality, are no different from us. They may project an imposing demeanor or implement strict rules but behind all that is someone like us struggling to make ends meet. With that said, let's hope that the management comes up with more activities that are just as engaging!
